What makes a good random voice call
Random chat only works if matching is fast and the audio is clear. BlindTalk uses WebRTC — the same technology behind browser video calls — so your voice travels directly to the other person with low delay. On networks that block direct connections, an encrypted relay keeps the call going.
We compress audio with the Opus codec, which stays clear even on weak mobile data. If your connection is slow, switch on Low data mode in Settings.
Random, but not completely random
Pure randomness often pairs people who can’t understand each other. BlindTalk first tries to match you with someone who speaks your language and shares an interest, then widens to anyone with your language, and only then to everyone online. You get variety without awkward silence.
Controls that matter during a random call
- Mute and unmute your mic at any time — the stranger sees that you muted.
- Next ends the call and immediately finds someone new.
- Report and Block are always visible on the call screen.
- A timer and a connection indicator show how long you have been talking and whether the line is healthy.
