Privacy Policy
Last updated 5 October 2026
BlindTalk is anonymous by design. Chatting never requires an account, and we never ask for your name, phone number, password, social media account or photo. Signing in with an email address is optional (see below). This page explains the small amount of data we do handle and why.
Your voice
- Calls are never recorded. We don’t store, transcribe or analyse audio.
- Audio is sent directly between the two browsers using encrypted WebRTC (DTLS-SRTP).
- If a direct path isn’t possible (for example on some mobile or office networks), the encrypted audio is relayed through our TURN server. The relay can’t decode it and doesn’t keep it.
Text chat and games
- Chat messages and game moves are passed through our server to the other person in real time and are never stored.
- Web links are automatically removed from chat messages to protect against scams and spam.
- Once a call ends, the conversation exists only on your screen until you leave the page.
Payments (BlindTalk Plus)
- Payments are processed by Razorpay. Your card, UPI, bank and contact details are entered on Razorpay’s secure checkout and are governed by Razorpay’s privacy policy — we never see or store them.
- We keep only the Razorpay order ID, payment ID, plan, amount and time of payment, for refunds, accounting and legal requirements.
- Your Plus access is stored as a random code in this browser; we keep only a one-way hash of it.
Optional email sign-in
- You can sign in with an email address to keep BlindTalk Plus on all your devices. It is never required to chat.
- We store only your email address, when you signed in, and a hash of your sign-in token. Sign-in codes are kept as hashes for 10 minutes.
- Your email is never shown to the people you talk to and is used only to send sign-in codes.
- You can delete your account at any time from the Account page.
WhatsApp group partner applications
If you apply on our Earn with your WhatsApp group page, we store the details you enter (name, WhatsApp number, city, group types and sizes, and anything optional you add) so our team can contact you about the programme. Only BlindTalk staff can see them. They are not linked to your chats, and we delete them on request through the contact form.
Nearby (Plus)
- If you choose Nearby, your browser asks for your location. It is rounded to about 10 km before it leaves your device.
- The rounded location is held in memory only while you are searching, to find people within about 100 km. It is never saved to a database.
- The other person only sees that you are “Nearby” — never your location or distance.
Temporary session
When you press Start Talking we create a random session, used only to run the service. It holds:
- a random ID, and a hash of a random token stored in your browser tab;
- the language, region and interests you chose (all optional);
- your status (idle, searching, in a call) and when you were last active;
- a keyed hash of your network address, used only to enforce bans, blocks and rate limits. We never store your raw IP address.
Your session ends when you close the tab or stay inactive for 30 minutes. Session records are deleted within 24 hours after that.
Safety records
- Calls: start and end time, duration and why it ended — deleted after 7 days.
- Blocks: which session blocked which — deleted after 24 hours.
- Reports and bans: the reason, your optional description and the sessions involved — deleted after 30 days.
What other people see
The stranger sees you only as “Stranger”, plus your language and any interests you share. They never see your IP address, location, device, session ID or anything else. Note that WebRTC needs to exchange network addresses between browsers to connect a call directly — this is technical connection data and is not shown in BlindTalk.
Your browser
We store your preferences and settings in your browser’s local storage, and the session token in session storage (cleared when you close the tab). You can wipe it any time in Settings.
Analytics
- We use Google Analytics (loaded directly and through Google Tag Manager) to understand how many people visit and which pages they use (for example page views, country, device type and browser). It uses cookies to tell visits apart.
- Advertising features, Google Signals and ad personalisation are switched off. Google Analytics does not store IP addresses.
- Analytics never receives what you say, type or play in a chat, and never receives your email.
- You can block it with any ad/tracker blocker or Google’s opt-out add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout). BlindTalk works exactly the same without it.
Meta Pixel (advertising measurement)
- We use the Meta Pixel (Facebook/Instagram) to measure how well our ads work — for example, which pages people visit after seeing an ad. It uses cookies and sends Meta information such as the page address, your browser and device, and your IP address.
- Meta may use this to show you BlindTalk ads on Facebook and Instagram, under Meta’s own privacy policy.
- The Meta Pixel never receives what you say, type or play in a chat, and never receives your email.
- You can limit it in your Facebook ad settings (“Activity from ad partners”) or block it with any tracker blocker. BlindTalk works exactly the same without it.
Sharing
We don’t sell or share data. We would only disclose safety records if required by law, or to protect someone from serious harm.
