BlindTalk works because two strangers choose to give each other a few minutes of honest conversation. These rules keep it that way. Breaking them can get you reported, blocked and temporarily banned.
Be respectful
- Treat the person on the other end the way you’d want to be treated.
- Disagree without insulting. If a conversation isn’t working, just tap Next.
- You must be 18 or older to use BlindTalk.
Protect your privacy — and theirs
- Don’t share your full name, phone number, home address, school, workplace, social media handles or photos.
- Don’t ask others for theirs, and don’t try to find out who someone is.
- Never send money, gift cards, codes or passwords to anyone you meet here.
- Don’t record other people without their clear permission.
Not allowed
- Harassment — bullying, insults, repeated unwanted contact, targeting someone.
- Hate speech — attacking people for race, ethnicity, religion, caste, gender, sexuality, disability or nationality.
- Sexual content — unwanted sexual talk or sounds, and anything sexual involving minors (reported to authorities).
- Threats — threats of violence, self-harm encouragement, or intimidation.
- Scams & spam — advertising, phishing, money requests, bots or playing recorded audio.
- Illegal content — anything that breaks the law where you or the other person live.
How reporting works
- Tap Report during a call or right after it ends, and choose a reason. Adding a short description helps.
- Reports are anonymous — the other person is never told who reported them.
- When several different people report the same person, they are paused automatically. Moderators then review the reports and can extend the ban.
- We don’t record calls, so moderators rely on reports and patterns of behaviour.
How blocking works
- Tap Block to end the call immediately. You won’t be matched with that person again.
- They aren’t told they were blocked — it looks like you simply left.
- Blocks are temporary records, kept only as long as needed to keep you apart.
If you feel unsafe
End the call right away. If someone threatens you or you think someone is in danger, contact your local emergency services. In India, dial 112. You can also reach a moderator through our contact form.
